Plagiarism Check

Screening for Plagiarism

The editorial board of Nursing Science Studies (NSS) recognises that plagiarism is unacceptable and therefore applies a strict plagiarism screening policy for all manuscripts submitted for publication. The journal uses Turnitin originality checking software to detect similarities in submitted manuscripts as well as in final versions of articles prior to publication. A maximum similarity index of 15% is permitted for submitted papers. If the similarity index exceeds this threshold, the manuscript will be returned to the author for revision and resubmission.

Level of Plagiarism
Minor

A short section of another article is plagiarised without any significant data or idea being taken from the original paper.

Action: A warning will be issued to the authors, and they will be asked to revise the text and properly cite the original source.

Intermediate

A significant portion of a paper is plagiarised without proper citation to the original paper.

Action: The submitted article will be rejected, and the authors will be prohibited from submitting new manuscripts to the journal for one year.

Severe

A significant portion of a paper is plagiarised, including the reproduction of original results or ideas presented in another publication.

Action: The manuscript will be rejected, and the authors will be prohibited from submitting new manuscripts to the journal for five years.

All authors are responsible for the content of their submitted manuscript, as they are deemed to have read and understood the journal’s Copyright Notice. If a penalty is imposed for plagiarism, all listed authors will be subject to the same penalty.
