Journal of Wound Research and Technology (JWRT) (e-ISSN: 3048-0043) is a peer-reviewed, Gold Open Access journal dedicated to publishing scholarly work in wound care and related interdisciplinary fields.

The journal publishes original research, systematic reviews, meta-analyses, and other scholarly contributions related to wound prevention, assessment, treatment, healing, tissue repair, diabetic foot care, pressure injuries, burns, vascular and neurovascular wounds, infection management, wound technologies, and rehabilitation.

The target readership includes nurses, physicians, surgeons, podiatrists, rehabilitation professionals, researchers, educators, and other health professionals involved in wound care and tissue healing.

Journal History

Journal of Wound Research and Technology was established in May 2024 as a scholarly platform for the dissemination of research and evidence in wound care, healing science, and related health technologies.

Publication Ethics and Malpractice Statement

JWRT follows publication ethics principles informed by COPE and ICMJE. The journal does not tolerate plagiarism, duplicate publication, fabricated or falsified data, undisclosed conflicts of interest, unethical research conduct, or inappropriate authorship practices.

Research involving human participants must comply with applicable ethical standards, including the Declaration of Helsinki where relevant, and must include ethics approval and informed consent when required. Research involving animals must comply with applicable institutional and national standards.

Editors, reviewers, and authors are expected to uphold confidentiality, integrity, objectivity, and transparency throughout the editorial and publication process.

Peer Review Process

All manuscripts undergo an initial editorial assessment to evaluate scope, ethical suitability, and readiness for peer review.

Manuscripts that pass this stage are sent to at least two independent reviewers with relevant subject expertise. JWRT applies a double-blind peer-review process.

Editorial decisions may include accept, minor revision, major revision, or reject. If reviewer recommendations differ substantially, an additional reviewer may be invited. The final decision is made by the Editor-in-Chief or assigned editor.

The journal aims to complete the initial editorial decision and peer-review process as efficiently as possible; actual timelines may vary depending on reviewer availability and editorial workload.

Publication Frequency

Journal of Wound Research and Technology is published biannually, with two issues per year scheduled in May and November.

Open Access, Copyright, and Licensing

JWRT provides immediate open access to all published content to support the broad dissemination of scholarly knowledge.

Authors retain copyright of their work and grant the journal the right of first publication.

All published articles are licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International License (CC BY-SA 4.0).

Digital Archiving and Preservation

Manuscript Submission and Publishing
