Peer Review Process

The decision to publish a paper is based on editorial assessment and peer review. Initially, all manuscripts are assessed by the editorial committee to determine whether they should proceed to peer review or receive a rapid editorial decision. Rejection at this stage is generally based on lack of novelty, insufficient scientific merit, or poor relevance to the journal’s scope.

Initial Editorial Assessment: The primary considerations are scope, compliance with author guidelines, and language quality. Authors may normally expect a decision from this stage within 1–2 weeks of submission.

Review Process: Manuscripts that pass initial assessment are sent to at least two peer reviewers selected according to subject expertise. JWRT applies a double-blind peer review system. Reviewers are generally expected to complete each review round within three weeks.

Decision-Making Process: Editorial decisions are based on reviewer recommendations. If recommendations differ substantially, the editor may invite a third reviewer. The final decision is made by the Editor-in-Chief and editorial committee.
