This journal follows the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE) in addressing all aspects of publication ethics, particularly the handling of cases involving research and publication misconduct.

All studies must be conducted according to high ethical standards and must comply with applicable local regulations and standards for ethical review and approval. The work described in submitted manuscripts must be conducted in accordance with the Code of Ethics of the World Medical Association (Declaration of Helsinki) for research involving human participants and applicable regulations and guidelines for research involving animals.

Asean Vascular and Wound Research adopts the principles and guidelines of COPE to uphold high ethical standards for publishers, editors, authors, and reviewers. Publication ethics is an essential component of scholarly publishing and must be clearly communicated to promote the quality and integrity of research worldwide. This section outlines the ethical standards and responsibilities of editors, reviewers, and authors. The publisher does not interfere with the integrity or content of published manuscripts and is responsible for supporting their timely publication.

For Editors

• Editors are responsible for every article published in Asean Vascular and Wound Research.
• Editors should assist authors in complying with the journal's Instructions for Authors, which are based on the recommendations of the ICMJE.
• Editors may consult with other editors or reviewers when making final decisions regarding manuscripts.
• Editors must evaluate manuscripts objectively and make decisions based solely on their academic quality and relevance, without regard to the authors' nationality, ethnicity, political beliefs, race, religion, gender, seniority, or institutional affiliation. Editors should decline an assignment if there is a potential conflict of interest.
• Editors must ensure that manuscripts sent for peer review do not contain identifying information about the authors and that information about reviewers is not disclosed to the authors.
• Editorial decisions should be communicated to authors together with reviewers' comments, except when such comments contain offensive, defamatory, or libelous remarks.
• Editors should respect reasonable and well-founded requests from authors to exclude a particular individual from reviewing their manuscript, provided that such requests are practicable.
• Editors and all editorial staff must maintain the confidentiality of submitted manuscripts and related information.
• Editors should follow the relevant COPE flowcharts when dealing with suspected research or publication misconduct, authorship disputes, or other ethical concerns.

For Reviewers

• Reviewers should identify and comment on ethical concerns and any suspected cases of research or publication misconduct.
• Reviewers should complete their reviews within the agreed timeframe and promptly notify the editor if they are unable to do so.
• Reviewers must maintain the confidentiality of manuscripts and all information obtained during the peer-review process.
• Reviewers should decline to review a manuscript if there is a potential conflict of interest between themselves and any of the authors.

For Authors

1. Authors affirm that the submitted manuscript has not been previously published and that they have not transferred or granted its publication rights elsewhere.
2. Authors must ensure that their work is original and that all sources and relevant previous work are properly cited in accordance with the journal's reference style.
3. Authors must not engage in plagiarism or self-plagiarism.
4. "Salami" publication, or the inappropriate fragmentation of research findings into multiple publications, is strictly prohibited in Asean Vascular and Wound Research.
5. Authors must ensure that they meet the authorship criteria established by the ICMJE and described in the journal's Instructions for Authors.
6. Authors must not include any personal information that could make a patient identifiable in any part of the manuscript, including descriptions, photographs, or pedigrees. When a patient's photograph is essential and indispensable as scientific information, authors must obtain written informed consent and clearly state this in the manuscript.
7. For research involving human participants, authors must confirm that the study was conducted in accordance with the ethical principles of the Declaration of Helsinki and the applicable national and international regulations governing research involving human participants. If there are any doubts about whether the research was conducted in accordance with the Declaration of Helsinki, authors must provide an appropriate explanation. For research involving animals, authors must confirm that the study was conducted in accordance with applicable national and international guidelines and regulations governing laboratory animal research.
8. Authors must provide the editor with relevant data, documentation, and other details of the study if there are concerns or suspicions regarding data fabrication or falsification.
9. Authors must disclose all potential conflicts of interest, including employment, research funding, consultancy fees, and intellectual property interests, using the ICMJE Disclosure of Interests form.
