Abstract

Background: Diabetes mellitus is a persistent medical condition that can lead to foot issues in the form of ulcers or lesions. Purpose: The objective of this community service initiative is to enhance the awareness and proficiency of the residents in Hamlet 4, RT 03 / RW 05, Ledug, Kembaran, in the prevention and management of diabetic foot issues by means of diabetic foot exercises. Methods: The approach employed encompassed a blend of counselling, demonstration, and hands-on practice of diabetic foot exercises. Results: The findings of the study demonstrated a notable enhancement in the community's knowledge and proficiency in carrying out diabetic foot exercises for the purpose of preventing and managing diabetic foot problems. Furthermore, there has been a rise in the community's inclination to engage in regular diabetic foot workouts. Conclusion: This community service initiative is anticipated to make a significant contribution towards enhancing the well-being and overall quality of life for individuals who are either at risk of or currently experiencing diabetes mellitus in the region.
